Guest post by Annie Kornberg

Although I know very little about fashion, I feel that Katie inspires me to “dress like I mean it”, which mostly just means she picks out my clothes.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Annie, avid denim wearer, red lipstick enthusiast, nanny, and knock-knock joke connoisseur. My style is comfortable and easy, because it’s very hard to run after children in a ball gown. I am inspired by bohemian and retro styles and I enjoy trying to pull off styles that probably don’t suit my personality (currently in search of pleather pants).

This weekend, I was reunited with the lovely Miss Bineham, long time friend and soulmate. We decided to put together an outfit that transfers well from summer to fall.

To bring you this summery fall outfit, we paired a skirt I had bought the day before at Target, a denim shirt from Liz Claiborne, and circle sunglasses all the way from Alehop in Salamanca, Spain.

The transition from summer to fall is always a strange phenomenon. Especially here in Oregon. We want to keep summer alive, but at some point we have to come to terms with the fact that autumn is among us, and that we’re freezing. For me though, I’ll probably start wearing pants when frost starts to form.

I have a special spot in my heart for tied-up button down shirts. I love the way it looks with high-waisted shorts or a skirt. I think there is a time and place to button your shirt and wear it normally, but if I can tie it, I probably will.

To get this look:
Top: JCPenney
Skirt: Target (Target online doesn’t have the actual skirt but here’s one similar):

Totally nanny-fied shoes: Naturalizer
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters
