Striped Dress // Cargo Vest

Dress // Vest // Shoes // Necklace

Today I am wearing my favorite striped T-shirt dress (only $14.90 at Forever 21) with a cargo pocket army green vest and pointed flats. I really like how the vest cinches in at the waist, sometimes this style can end up looking like a paper sack without any shape. The leopard print umbrella is always a must when it rains 9 months of the year. :)

Inspire.

(similar) Top // Cardigan // Jeans // boots

My Fantastic roommate and I explored the quaint neighborhood of Wallingford just north of downtown Seattle. We went to the Chocolati Cafe and sipped on an almond and cinnamon hot chocolate while we blogged. She is a cheese monger, an incredible chef and musician who works in Pike's Place and has this awesome cheese blog: Le Fromager.

Today I am wearing my favorite slim fit boyfriend jeans cuffed, with a graphic white T-shirt and long knit cardigan. These brown leather booties are my go-to for long days on my feet. It's perfect for a casual fall outfit.

Fall Cape // Leather boots

Cape // Belt // Zella "live in" leggings // Kate Spade "K" necklace // Kate Spade Bag // Frye Boots

Today I am styling an oversized plaid cape, belted with a thin black leather bow belt and knee high leather boots. Plaid capes are not only trendy for Fall but also so warm and cozy. This is a great outfit for walking around downtown, because it's classy and updated but also so comfortable.  I paired this outfit with favorite "one in a million" "K" Kate Spade necklace and a cream leather cross body bag.

Plaid // Turtle Neck

This is my first post in over a year and I am ready to start blogging consistently again! I moved to the busy and exciting city of Seattle where I am starting my career in the fashion industry. This is my favorite time of the year, it always inspires my creative side and makes me want to go shopping. Fall always brings a feeling of new beginnings and nothing can beat the leaves changing and cozying up in a classic Seattle coffee shop.

Turtle neck sweaters are really trendy this Fall, and Forever 21 had a bunch of really practical crop top versions of them.. haha. I am loving this plaid skirt, especially the shape of this one. Black booties are an awesome Fall staple.

Guest post by Annie Kornberg

Although I know very little about fashion, I feel that Katie inspires me to “dress like I mean it”, which mostly just means she picks out my clothes.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Annie, avid denim wearer, red lipstick enthusiast, nanny, and knock-knock joke connoisseur. My style is comfortable and easy, because it’s very hard to run after children in a ball gown. I am inspired by bohemian and retro styles and I enjoy trying to pull off styles that probably don’t suit my personality (currently in search of pleather pants).

This weekend, I was reunited with the lovely Miss Bineham, long time friend and soulmate. We decided to put together an outfit that transfers well from summer to fall.

To bring you this summery fall outfit, we paired a skirt I had bought the day before at Target, a denim shirt from Liz Claiborne, and circle sunglasses all the way from Alehop in Salamanca, Spain.

The transition from summer to fall is always a strange phenomenon. Especially here in Oregon. We want to keep summer alive, but at some point we have to come to terms with the fact that autumn is among us, and that we’re freezing. For me though, I’ll probably start wearing pants when frost starts to form.

I have a special spot in my heart for tied-up button down shirts. I love the way it looks with high-waisted shorts or a skirt. I think there is a time and place to button your shirt and wear it normally, but if I can tie it, I probably will.

To get this look:
Top: JCPenney
Skirt: Target (Target online doesn’t have the actual skirt but here’s one similar):

Totally nanny-fied shoes: Naturalizer
Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters
